The Blackmore Vale Group is a family run business near Shaftesbury in North Dorset, established by Fred and Joan Farrow along with their son and daughter (Michael & Dawn) in 1966.
Back then the business consisted of a 24 hour transport café serving good homemade food for hungry truckers and a modest caravan park for campers and tourist experimenting with the newly launched “mobile caravan”.

As a business Blackmore Vale has remained on the same site outside Shaftesbury, growing and diversifying. Today the Blackmore Vale Group of companies employees 3 generations of the Farrow family here in Dorset, covering a range of business enterprises including:

Self Catering Holidays and Events in Dorset

Congratulations Rob on the launch of Dorset Country Holidays & Events. From successfully launching the carvan hire branch of Blackmore Vale Lesiure Rob is now heading up the self catering holiday rentals and events arm of the BMV Group. Dorset Country Holidays & Events offer self catering Park home holidays and Lodge holiday rental, clay shooting weekends, fishing holidays. Working with experienced wedding planner Rebbecca Jones DCHE also provide an event venue for wedding receptions etc.

The next generation

Alice Jane Farrow was christened in June in the same Shaftesbury church her father went to as a boy and where our founder Fred rests in peace. We're sure it won't be long till Alice is soon taking her place with the family here at Blackmore Vale
